Race Details September 7 to 8, 2019
Note: if you run more than 2 minutes without seeing a small red flag, back track until you find one – you are off course (Remember this – very important)
Cookhouse: Saturday open for Coffee & Bagels @ 5:00 AM & closes @ 5:30 AM (for 100m/50m runners only)
5:50 AM at the Start/Finish Line for roll call 100M/50M & Prayer.
100M/50M – 6:00 AM SHARP

FYI – any signs (white boards, black lettering) you see on lane ways leading away from the main road are in miles NOT kilometers.
From Base Camp you run 1.1K before turning right onto East Road. Now on a gradual downhill, at 1.7K you bear left passing the MacDonald Lake Boat Launch and Glamping Cabin. Aid Stations #2 is just past the tracks. Continue & cross the East Road where you proceed on Poachers Trail at 2.2K. A few good little climbs to start Poachers but levels out & then a nice long descent until the end of the trail. Turn right & there is Aid Station #4.
12K Turn around at Aid Station #4 head back to the finish line.
26K Continue to The Pass, Redstone Vista, Ben's Trail, Krista Trail to Aid Station #5. There will be a few ups and downs along The Pass. Redstone Vista is all up hill to a beautiful scenic lookout point. Once you hit Ben's you will start to descend. Ben's and Krista will present a mix of ups and downs, flat sections, etc... At Aid Station #5 turn around and head back to finish line.
From Base Camp run 1.1K before turning right on the East Road. At 1.7K bear left passing by MacDonald Lake Boat Launch and Glamping Cabin. Aid station 2 is just past the cabin will be set up next time you go through this aid station. Continue on the trail & then left on the East Road at 2.25K. Over the next 1K on forest roads you will encounter two hills, leveling out at 3.1K. At Aid Station #3, you will turn left on the Red Trail 6K to reach Normac Trail at 6.3K.
Now on Normac Trail you climb a challenging (500metre) hill & then left to continue on the Normac. The trail levels out & descends for a short distance, then you will encounter another serious climb (700 metre) leveling out at the 8K mark. Continuing on Normac you pass the Dog Trail arriving back at the East Road at 10.1K.
Turn left on the East Road & run past the MacDonald Lake Boat Launch and Glamping Cabin for the second time & Aid Station #2. Running past the aid station, this time you cross the East Road & enter Poachers Trail 11K. As the challenge continues you will encounter a hill at 12K leveling out at 12.5K and about 200 metres later climb again reaching hilltop at 13K. Now a long descent until you reach 14K, then leveling out to the trails end at 15.5K.
At the end of Poachers, you turn right & Aid Station #4 is there. Proceed up the hill & turn left into The Pass & follow it until you come to a T -junction. Proceed right for a few metres & follow the sign for Redstone Vista (16.8K). Proceed up the hill until you see the sign “To Ben's Trail” (17.1 & proceed left until you hit Ben's Trail (17.7). At Ben's Trail turn right & follow the trail until you hit Krista Trail (20.1) where you will proceed right.
Over the balance of the Krista you encounter more hills & descents in a very dense forest section. Coming out of the forest area, you will see Aid Station #5. Proceed along the flat logging road for a couple of k's.
At the T-junction, proceed right, cross the bridge & make an immediate left on Black Creek Trail. About 1/2K down the trail is the place where 50K runners will turn & head for home. The turn will be clearly marked with a big yellow sign. 50M/100M runners continue down this trail which is somewhat more forgiving. The trail opens to a forest road (for approx 2K) through a scenic hardwood forest section until you reach East Road. Turn right & a few feet down the road is Aid Station #6 & the 30K mark.
On Lookout trail proceed one km before a long climb, topping out at 31.1K (do not climb all the way to the Lookout stay right) then a long decent leveling out at 32K. Crossing a wooden bridge you go left onto Sprucetree Trail at 33K. A nice sandy old forest road will bring you back to the East Road at 35K. At the t-junction you proceed right & then an immediate left to the start of the King & James Trail.
The King & James trail climbs again for about a kilometer then levels out for 500 metres, followed by a long descent for another kilometer. There are a few more rollers over the next couple of kilometers. At the junction of the Green & King & James, the trail changes its name to the Red Trail and here you bear right & continue down the road until you reach Aid Station #7 – continue through the aid station until you see the turnaround for the 50M/100M. Proceed back to the Aid Station #7 & then retrace the route.
